A Season of Visits

We have been feeling really lucky to have lots of visitors this last month. The fun started out with Jake, Mandi, and Kempton coming for almost a week. (Mandi always has a cute and creative post up her sleeve that you can view here.) We had lots of fun eating tons of food, did some crafting, downtown visits, taking the kids to the Children's Musuem, and just hanging out. We had tons of fun and couldn't be happier that we are within a day drive away from them.

The day the MossPosse left, my friend Jana came into town. We had a super fun girls weekend going to girlie movies that our husbands would never want to see, doing tons of shopping with no kids in tow, lunch at Big Bowl, braving the St. Patrick festivities in the chilly weather, a walking tour of the city in the drizzling rain (which Jana said reminded her exactly of her homeland Sweden), and checking out the brilliant green Chicago River.

A few days later my parents came into town for the week. It was so great to have them around, especially considering that Jonny went on two business trips and my kids were sickly, they made it all bearable. We checked out a few musueums, visited with the Bonnett fam over the weekend, went to the zoo, did the Willis Tower tour, ate a ton of Chicago must have foods, rented movies, did a little shopping, played lots of Bananagrams, checked out the Frank Lloyd Wright homes in Oak Park, visited Downtown and Jonny at work, and completely enjoyed every minute of their company. This week, I am not sure how to handle my days- I have to cook and wash all the dishes, entertain and take care of my kids by myself, play Bananagrams solo style, wake up with my kids in the morning instead of sending them to play with G&G. We are soooooo missing you guys. Please come back!

So is it safe to say that you LOVE Chicago? It's only going to get warmer and better...so jealous.

Fun visitors! I hope we will be sooner, rather than later, added to your "season of visitors."

I guess my post made you miss Colorado .. and your post made me miss Chicago! There's so much fun stuff to do, and I'm jealous of that super-cool lookouts they have at the Willis Tower now (back when it was the Sears Tower, they didn't have those!) Especially love the one with Uncle Wayne "falling," hee hee. :-D Also loved that you got to see the green river (and not just from the car like we did!) Enjoy the spring -- it just gets better and better from here!!

Love all the pictures, Linds. You are such a great hostess. The secret is out. I predict many more visitors.
